2020 Mettle Red Wine

On the nose complex aromas dark fruits and earth, nori and dill. on the palate is intense with flavors of blackberries, plum, and violets with a long savory finish.

Our Rhone Blend takes on a new name with each vintage with each trying to define a vintage what stood out the most to us. In 2020 it was Mettle. For numerous reasons the year tested our ability to cope with difficulties and be resilient.

2019 Madrona Bay ‘Elocution’ Red Wine - This is the one red blend that Madrona Bay makes, as this Rhone inspired wine combines 50% Syrah with smaller parts Mourvèdre, Counoise and Grenache. This mostly underwent whole cluster fermentation and was stored in natural oak before bottling. Very smoky and spicy on the nose with ripe roasted fig, blackberry and wild thyme notes. The palate is very fresh, as this comes off a touch lean with light red fruits with exotic spices and charcuterie accents. Drink 2023-2029.
